Overview
LoopPlay is an audio player for music practice available on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android. It is designed to operate entirely offline without collecting, storing, or transmitting personal information.
Data Collection
The application does not collect, use, or share personal data. This includes:
- No personal information gathering
- No usage analytics or tracking
- No network connections
- No external server data transmission
- No cookies or identifiers
Local Data
LoopPlay stores the following data locally on your device only. None of this information ever leaves your device.
Preferences
- Folder access permissions — to remember folders you have granted access to
- A-B loop points — start/end positions for loop regions you set on audio files
- Recent folders — paths of recently accessed folders
- Language preference — your chosen display language
- Custom key bindings (macOS only) — any keyboard shortcut overrides you configure
- Onboarding flag — whether the welcome screen has been shown
- Track order — your chosen file ordering per folder
- Last played track — per-folder record of the most recently played track
- Audio buffer size (Apple platforms only) — your selected audio processing buffer size
Cache Files
- Waveform cache — extracted audio peak data for waveform visualization
- BPM cache — detected tempo results for audio files
Cache files can be safely deleted at any time. The operating system may also remove them automatically to free disk space.
System Media Controls
On iOS and iPadOS, LoopPlay provides track title, artist, artwork, and playback position to the system Now Playing interface. On Android, the same information is provided to the MediaSession that powers lock-screen and notification playback controls. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to any server by LoopPlay.
Third-Party Services
LoopPlay uses no analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or cloud services. Beyond each platform's standard system frameworks (Apple SDKs on macOS/iOS/iPadOS; AndroidX / Jetpack on Android), the app bundles a small set of open-source libraries that run entirely on your device: the Signalsmith audio libraries for time-stretching and pitch-shifting on all platforms; PFFFT for fast Fourier transforms on Android; and icon and drag-reordering UI helpers on Android. None of these libraries make network requests or access personal data.
Children
LoopPlay does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Policy Updates
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
